Program Description:

ALCHEMY is an artist-led international residency carefully designed to connect artists, place, and community through studio work, lively salon style suppers, and site-specific exploration. This Residency is designed for artists to focus on their practice and learn from others in a respectful and supportive studio environment.

Through community engagement and a commitment to collaborative process, we collect, tell, and document multiple stories in a unique community setting. Founded in 2015 on the Toronto Islands, Alchemy's pillars are food, art, garden and table -- all inspired by the original gardens and community at the Centre. Shared meals, artist talks, studio visits, and dialogue with community members and guest artists all contribute to an inspiring time in a magical setting.

Gibraltar Point Centre for the Arts is a peaceful artist retreat nestled against the magnificent backdrop of the Toronto Islands – a car-free community 15 minutes by ferry to Toronto's downtown core.

Cost: $1100.00 (CAD funds) plus applicable taxes for accommodations, studio space, thematic programming, guest artist talks, four shared suppers and the opportunity to participate in a community open studio.
